Services

Hainault is well served as we have good transport links with buses to Ilford and Romford and the Central Line Underground service to London.  These give links to other bus routes, underground and British Rail services.

A new, purpose built Medical Centre has just been completed on the corner of Manford Way and Foremark Close.  As well as the Doctors’ Surgeries, it is planned to do small operations there.  There is a team of Practice Nurses who assist with Family Planning, Cervical Smears, Immunisations, Blood Pressure Checks, General Health, Diabetic Screening, Asthma Screening, Heart Disease Screening and Geriatric Visiting.  Also available is a Chiropody service.

The local Fire Station is situated in New North Road.  It was under threat of closure, but thank goodness is still there to help us in emergencies.

Hainault Library is situated in Manford Way where, apart from borrowing books, you can loan DVD’s and CD’s.  There is also an IT area where 6 computers are available for use, free of charge.  Booking sessions can be arranged over the telephone or in person.

Adjacent to the Library is Hainault Forest Community Centre, where many activities are held, including:-

  • A purpose built IT suite with 14 computers – one adapted for use for disabled people.  Lessons in computing are held here with knowledgeable tutors taking small, informal classes.
  • A nursery, which is part of the Hainault Forest Community Association and is managed by the Association’s General Committee and the Nursery Manager.
