Parks and playgrounds
Hainault Country Park: Situated in the London Borough of Redbridge on the edge of Epping Forest. Some of the attractions are, a lake with fish and a few species of water birds, a number of country walks through the forest, an information room with pictures and some local history and information on birds and plants found in the forest, and a Children’s Zoo with rabbits, goats ,cattle and pigs, a picnic area with food takeaway.
Was part of the Forest of Essex from Norman Times until 1851. The Fairlop Oak stood in a clearing and annual fair held there until 1900.
The new Hainault Forest was created and opened in 1906 and came under control of Redbridge in 1986.
